I’m going to exhibit about 35 paintings at the Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery at Glen Echo, at 7300 MacArthur Blvd. in Glen Echo. The core of the show will be 10 paintings I did for the Washington Ethical Society on their monthly themes (Creativity, Simplicity, Desire, and so forth); most of the rest of the paintings undertaken as studies to develop my craft. Hence, the tentative title, “Themes & Etudes,” which also expresses the connection I feel between the visual arts and musical composition.
The paintings have to be for sale, but collecting money is not the central purpose, and all of the net proceeds (after the gallery’s commission, the sparkling cider, and the brie) will go to charity.
The show will be up only for the weekend of April 15th and 16th — Saturday from noon to eight, and Sunday from noon until five — so be sure you don’t let this event slip through the cracks!

About Barry Galef
I am an "economist emeritus" and a visual artist. I've been carving distinctive Jack o'Lanterns since I started college, closing in on 50 years ago. This site has links to ten Jack o'Lanterns, a set of 44 paintings from a show I presented in 2017, and a page offering portraits. After June, 2021, there should be images from another show as well.
